Finance Officer – Accounting

As a Finance Officer - Accounting you will assist the Team Leader Financial Processes to comply with all statutory financial, accounting and taxation responsibilities.

The role

Working closely with the Team Leader Financial Processes you will:

  • Maintain effective customer service standards.
  • Be responsible for various balance sheet account reconciliations.
  • Assist in maintaining the completeness, accuracy, reconciliation, reliability and integrity of Councils financial ledgers.
  • Apply all relevant legislation and regulations, accounting standards, Council policies and internal control principles as required.

The opportunity is offered on a permanent full-time basis.

To be a successful candidate we require:

  • Demonstrated ability to undertake the functions and responsibilities identified in this role.
  • Experience working with an accounting enterprise system.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and follow strict procedures and guidelines.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and analytical skills.
  • Ability to plan and prioritise work.
  • Excellent customer relationship skills.
  • Relevant computer skills (including Microsoft Office applications).


Salary from $69,353 per annum (Grade E, Step 1) + 10.5% super.
