Street Cleaner

We are currently seeking experienced Street Cleaners to join the Waste and Cleansing team at Canterbury-Bankstown Council. (2 roles available) 

The primary purpose of the role is to perform day-to-day operational requirements as a Street Cleaner which involves but is not limited to cleaning town centres, residential cleaning and litter picking as directed by Team Leader City Clean in a thorough, professional and cost-effective manner that will meet contractual requirements. 

The salary range for this opportunity commences at $57,713 (Grade A, Step1) + 10% super

  • Operate a range of equipment in City Clean Team including Whipper-snippers, hand-blowers, and other Small Plant.
  • Undertake day to day operational requirements of the City Clean Team, including litter collection, weed control, removal of dumped rubbish and dead animals
  • Undertake emergency response requests as directed by the Team Leader
  • Undertake other tasks and duties as required*For a full list of duties, please refer to the position description

Essential Criteria

  • Class C driver's licence
  • Knowledge of the operations of street cleansing activities.
  • Knowledge and experience in equipment used to perform such activities.
